PHOENIX — When Misty Lee Wilke realized the man she had been having a sexual relationship with was a Trump supporter, she ran him over with a Mustang, according to court records.
Wilke said she got into an argument with her boyfriend, when she found out he was voting for Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential election.
She said he laughed at her saying his political affiliation didn’t define who he was, and she pushed him. He swung at her with a Trump-16 pocketknife and cut her arm, according to police.
Wilke said she got in her car and accelerated to the point that she jumped the curb and ended up sideways in the park.
Court documents say the victim fractured a vertebra and suffered a head injury that required staples.
A grand jury indicted Wilke on May 10, charging her with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault and leaving the scene of a serious injury accident. She has pleaded not guilty.
