Silent Crowd Members Asked To Leave After Refusing To Laugh During Comedy Show

I worked a club where a table of four hecklers had to be removed from the showroom for disrespectful behavior. They stayed quiet through the host, didn’t laugh through the middle comic, and were still not laughing when I hit the stage.

After the second time management had “politely” asked them to try laughing at a few jokes without results the guests were escorted out

“What? We were just being quiet!” a woman shouted.

After the manager explained not laughing isn’t permitted during a live performance, they grew even more agitated.

“I paid $9 to be here, not $9 to laugh here!”

The manager pointed out that the ego of every performer had been injured. which seemed to stun the couple.

“If they wanted us to laugh they should’ve told better jokes!”

To accelerate their exodus, the manager asked the audience, “By a round of applause, who wants these people to leave?”

The entire audience consisting of the 4 comics performing that night erupted into a standing ovation.

After seeing the contention they faced, the unmannered couple finally made their way out, bringing the show’s non-comedian audience count to zero.
